New York State Association of County Clerks (NYSACC) Recognizes Idoni’s Efforts

July 6, 2010

county clerk awardWestchester County Clerk Timothy C. Idoni was recently honored by his fellow county clerks with a 2010 Achievement Award in recognition of his contributions to the New York State Association of County Clerks (NYSACC) over the past year.

NYSACC proposed legislation earlier this year that would allow land records, such as deeds and mortgages, to be electronically filed in the offices of County Clerks and the New York City Register.  Authorizing electronic recording creates the potential to save millions of dollars through productivity improvements in both the public and private sector.  Over the last four months, Idoni has worked with the Governor’s Office, the New York State Department of Finance and Taxation, the New York State Office for Real Property Tax Services, the Office for Technology, the New York State Land Title Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York Bankers Association, to craft legislation supported by the Governor and introduced in the Senate late last month.

"I am honored that my fellow County Clerks throughout New York State have recognized my work on behalf of NYSACC,” stated Idoni.  “I look forward to continuing to work alongside my colleagues to press for legislation that will allow for electronic filing of land records.”
