Making Government Easy, County Clerk Launches Westchester Records Online (WRO)

Aug. 31, 2009

Westchester County Clerk Timothy C. Idoni’s office receives over four million pieces of paper a year.  And while his primary job is to keep papers filed with him safe, Idoni also wants to make information about these filings easily accessible online.  “Westchester Records Online is a new website where anyone can go to search our online records” shared County Clerk Idoni.  “But before we finalize this online search tool, we want to hear from our users.”

A test version of Westchester Records Online, where customers can view data about or images of many of the documents accepted by the office, is now available at wro.westchesterclerk.com. This new website will eventually replace the current Westchester County Clerk Public Viewer.  At Westchester Records Online you can:

  • Search land records such as deeds and mortgages
  • Search legal records including judgments and business filings
  • Search filed maps including subdivision maps

“We listened to suggestions made by both frequent and one-time customers,” stated Idoni.  “And in response to these requests, we have enhanced our access to online records.”  Enhancements include:

  • County Clerk records are now all in one place at Westchester Records Online
  • Smarter searches help customers find the documents they need more quickly
  • Compatibility for users with Internet Explorer 6 and up as well as Firefox 3 and up
  • User-friendly design helps customers find their documents more quickly

Idoni, whose office has worked with professional organizations and frequent customers to improve other online systems, indicated that he would welcome further input and enhancement requests.

While there is a daily or annual user fee required to view imaged documents, all indexed details can be viewed by online visitors free of charge. To view Westchester Records Online, go to wro.westchesterclerk.com. To provide feedback on your search experience, please choose the “Suggestions” link at the bottom of the page. For more information, please call 995-3081 .
