If the information provided in your Business Certificate changes, you must file an Amended Business Certificate with the Office of the Westchester County Clerk.
And, if you discontinue doing business in Westchester County, you must file a Certificate of Discontinuance of Business which has been executed by a majority of the parties named in the most recent Business Certificate.
The fee to file an Amended Business Certificate is $35.00 ($25.00 filing fee + $10.00 for two certified copies) payable by cash, American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, certified check, attorney's check or money order payable to "Westchester County Clerk."
If you are filing in person, our staff member can act as notary public as long as you provide valid photo identification. If you file your Amended Business Certificate by mail, be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope and note that credit cards and cash are not accepted. There is no fee to file a Certificate of Discontinuance of Business.
